This Privacy Policy explains how findmerooms.com ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use https://www.findmerooms.com.

1. Overview
findmerooms helps people find San Francisco room listings. We collect limited personal information when you browse the site, sign in with Google, or post a listing. We do not sell your personal information.
This policy applies to visitors and registered users in the United States and elsewhere. If you are a California resident, see Section 9 for additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Google account data when you sign in: email address, name (if available from Google), profile identifier, and authentication tokens managed by Supabase
- Listing details when you post a room: title, description, neighborhood, contact email, and uploaded photos
- Communications if you email us at legal@findmerooms.com or privacy@findmerooms.com
Information collected automatically
- Usage analytics via Vercel Analytics: page views and basic interaction events. We do not use Google Analytics.
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, referring URL, and timestamps may be processed by our hosting and authentication providers in server logs
- Cookies and similar technologies used for authentication sessions (see our Cookie Policy)
Listing data
Listing information submitted by posters (titles, prices, photos, neighborhoods, contact emails) is stored to display search results.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the site and search experience
- Authenticate users and maintain account sessions
- Display and moderate user-submitted room listings
- Respond to support requests and legal notices
- Monitor performance, debug errors, and prevent abuse
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
We do not use your information to make housing decisions, tenant screening, or brokerage recommendations. We are a technology service, not a landlord or broker.
5. Third-Party Services
When you sign in with Google, Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by Google. When you contact a poster by email, standard email provider policies may apply.
Links to third-party privacy policies are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party practices.
6. Data Retention
We retain account and listing data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Server logs are retained for limited periods appropriate to their purpose. You may request deletion as described in Section 9.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a strong Google password and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
8. Children's Privacy
findmerooms is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact privacy@findmerooms.com and we will delete it.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request deletion (subject to exceptions); and to correct inaccurate information.
Categories collected (last 12 months): identifiers (email, user ID, name); internet activity (page views and event analytics); and listing content you submit when posting a room.
Do Not Sell or Share:We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not respond to Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for "sale/share" because we do not engage in those activities.
How to exercise rights: Email privacy@findmerooms.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We will verify your request (typically via your signed-in account or email confirmation) and respond within the time required by law.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law.
10. Other U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, and others) may have similar rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of certain processing. Contact privacy@findmerooms.com to submit a request. We will honor applicable rights to the extent required by law.
11. International Users
findmerooms is operated from the United States. If you access the site from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
