Valid for raiways, buses and ferry boats shown below:
Raiways: All JR Group Railways - Shinkansen (super express) (except "NOZOMI"), limited express trains, express trains, and rapid or local trains. (Not usable on some trains)
Buses:
JR Bus Companies: Local lines of JR Hokkaido Bus, JR Bus Tohoku, JR Bus Kanto, JR Tokai Bus, West Japan JR Bus, Chugoku JR Bus, JR Shikoku Bus and JR Kyushu Bus.
JR Highway Bus Lines:
Sapporo-Otaru; Morioka-Hirosaki/Aomori;
Tokyo-Nagoya/Kyoto/Osaka/Tsukuba Centre;
Nagoya-Kyoto/Osaka;
Osaka-Tsuyama Car Shed/Kasai Flower Center
(not accepted on some lines)
Ferry: JR Ferry: Only the JR Miyajima ferry is covered. The JR Hakata Pusan ferry is NOT covered.

Conditions
Pass to be used consecutively after the 1st day of validation at a JR Train Stataion
The pass is valid for 3 months from date of issuance and is for travellers visiting Japan from foreign countries.
For Japanese nationals who are qualified to live permanently or married to non-Japanese residing in a country other than Japan.
Japan Rail Pass cannot be purchased inside Japan.
Seat reservations cannot be made outside Japan.
Cancellation charge is subject to 20% & 7 % GST
Remarks
The JAPAN RAIL PASS is not valid for "NOZOMI" Shinkansen trains. If you use a "NOZOMI", you must pay the ordinary fare and the limited express charge, and if in a Green car, the Green car charge. Passengers using train on non-JR lines* must pay respective fares and charges applicable to selections traveled on such lines.
